My name is Ronald Okoth, CEO / Founder of RO Sports & RO Sports Soccer Academy. Through RO sports which is a non profit organization that seeks to promote growth & sustainability in the field of sports specifically through football I seek to promote social change and development .
I’m also a professional footballer in the Kenya Premier League with Sofapaka FC . I also double up as an Equity Sport Brand Ambassador; a UK based capacity-building and advocacy charity with a goal to tackle socioeconomic inequality and level the playing field in global sport.
MY BIOGRAPHY
Behind The Action
I started my football career at Salem Sportiff before later moving to Jericho All Stars. I soon moved to Congo United (2011) then later to Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia (2013). I then joined Mahakama, Nairobi Stima and later made a move to Western Stima (2015). Soon after, I joined Mathare United (2016) and shortly moved to KCB. I joined Sofapaka Football Club in 2019 where I currently play.
I am also actively involved in engaging young athletes through mentorship programs in various platforms such as 1Kid 1Pair, Chapa Dimba na Safaricom tournaments , Africa Sports Network Workshop. My passion for promoting community development drives me to strive in transforming our local sports industry.
I am currently the Founder of RO Sports & RO Sports Soccer Academy. I also double up as a football pundit in the mainstream media station; KTN, KBC , Y254 Tv, Metropol TV & K24 Tv.
EDUCATION
Balancing Education & Football
Despite a lot of time and dedication that sports demand , I still did managed to pursue my primary , high school & college education where I eventually I graduated from Kenya Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Science (2016) .
